Emergency Financial Assistance provides short-term help with basic needs during a crisis so people living with HIV can prioritize their health and stay connected to care.
Who is this for?
- People living with HIV who are experiencing a short-term emergency that affects health or access to care
- Individuals whose income has decreased or whose essential expenses have unexpectedly increased
- People who have an urgent need related to basic shelter, utilities, transportation, or other approved essentials
What does it cover?
- Emergency housing-related needs when allowed by the program
- Utilities in qualifying emergency situations
- Transportation in qualifying emergency situations
- Food or other urgent essential needs when other resources are not available
- Certain medication or health-related emergency needs when other assistance programs cannot meet the need
How does it help?
- Payments are made directly to landlords, vendors, pharmacies, or service providers when approved.
- No cash is provided directly to clients.
- Emergency assistance is intended to address a short-term crisis and help the individual remain stable and connected to care.
